The Integrated Goods and Services Tax (IGST) and State Goods and Services Tax (SGST) collections for February 2023 of the current Financial Year increased by a combined 40%, according to the Odisha Goods and Services Tax (OGST) department.
According to Commissionerate of CT & GST sources, the state collected Rs. 1712.48 crore in February 2023 as opposed to Rs. 1,223.22 crore in February 2022. Out of the aforementioned, the OGST Collection in February 2023 is Rs. 1,205.89 crore. Up till February 2023, the State will have collected Rs. 12,779.00 crore in OGST, up from Rs. 11391.76 crore at a growth rate of 12.18 percent.
With a collection of Rs. 4519.35 Crore in February 2023 compared to Rs. 4101.49 Crore in February 2022, the State has likewise seen a growth of 10.19 percent in Gross GST. The second-highest Gross Collection of all time occurred in February of 23 with a total of Rs. 4519.35 Crore.
Also, there has been an increase in the amount of Value Added Tax (VAT) collected from gasoline and alcoholic beverages, which totaled Rs. 1,055.27 crore in February 2023 as opposed to Rs. 835.52 crore in February 2022, representing a growth rate of 26.30 percent.
The GST Commissionerate registered 46,090 new taxpayers during the current Financial Year as part of its efforts to broaden the base of taxpayers. Also, during February 2023, the production of waybills climbed by 20.72 percent, indicating a strong uptick in commercial activity.
