Commissioner of Goods and Services ( GST ) S Arokia Raj, stated during an exhibition and vendor development Programme held by the Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME ) department in collaboration with MADITSSIA on March 7, 2023 (Tuesday), in Madurai, that MSMEs’ entrepreneurs can go to the GST Seva kendras to make paying taxes quicker.
Nirmala Sitharaman, the Union Finance Minister, included a number of advantageous programmes for MSMEs in the Union Budget 2023, including a credit guarantee scheme of Rs 9,000 crore that would allow small enterprises to borrow Rs 2 lakh crore without requiring any collateral.
The Finance Minister highlighted these issues in the budget speech and emphasised that the MSME sector, which contributes around 30% of the GDP and employs more than 11 crore people, is the foundation of the Indian economy.
The GST Commissioner Stated that “The government considers MSMEs as the growth engine of the country and we are always accessible to entrepreneurs who find it difficult to file their tax returns. There are certain technical flaws in implementing GST but it has improved the tax system of the country much better than before.”
