The Income Tax Department has released the latest common offline utility for Form 3CA-3CD and 3CB-3CD on 6th September 2023. The department first released the form utility on 10th September 2021.
Form 3CA-3CD is an audit report under Section 44AB of the Income -tax Act, 1961, in a case where the accounts of the business or profession of a person have been audited under any other law and Statement of Particulars required to be furnished under Section 44AB of the Income-tax Act.
And, Form 3CB-3CD is an audit report under Section 44AB of the Income -tax Act, in the case of a person referred to in clause (b) of sub – rule (1) of rule 6G and Statement of Particulars required to be furnished under Section 44AB of the Income-tax Act.
Section 44AB outlines the regulations pertaining to a group of taxpayers obligated to undergo an audit conducted by a chartered accountant. The purpose of the audit, as per Section 44AB, is to assess whether the taxpayer is in conformity with the diverse provisions of the Income-tax Law and has met all other criteria stipulated by the Income-tax Law. The audit carried out by a chartered accountant on the taxpayer’s accounts, in compliance with Section 44AB, is commonly referred to as a “tax audit.”
