The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India ( ICAI ) has cemented its status as the undisputed leader in the global accounting profession, boasting a membership base of Chartered Accountants ( CA ) exceeding 12.5 lakh (1.25 million) as of February 2024.
This impressive figure encompasses both qualified Chartered Accountants ( CAs ) and students diligently pursuing their CA qualifications under the ICAI’s tutelage.
The ICAI’s membership strength can be further broken down into two key categories:
Seasoned Chartered Accountants: Over 3.96 lakh chartered accountants form the backbone of the ICAI’s membership, bringing their experience and expertise to various industries across India and internationally.
Future Accounting Leaders in the making: The future of the profession seems bright with a robust pipeline of more than 8.62 lakh students actively enrolled in CA programs offered by the ICAI. These 2,72,710 Foundation Students, 3,92,844 Intermediate Students and 1,96,671 students in line for the Finals are undergoing rigorous training to develop the necessary skills and knowledge to become qualified CAs.
Fellow and Associate Members
