The Institute of Companies Secretaries of India ( ICSI ) has urged an extension of last date for Annual Filing under the Companies Act, 2013.
According to the provisions of Companies Act, 2013 which require the filing of financial statements (Form AOC-4 and AOC-4 XBRL) and Annual Return (Form MGT-7) by every company with the Registrar within thirty days and sixty days respectively of the date of the annual general meeting.
In a representation submitted by ICSI has said that, due to Festive holidays (such as Diwali, Bhai Duj etc.) in the last week of October, 2019 which also happens to be last date of filings. ii. The last date of filing of Income Tax Returns along with Audit Reports for corporates and tax audit for other assesses has been extended by CBDT upto 31st October, 2019, thereby various filings culminating on the same date.
The ICSI also requested to consider granting an extension of time for filing of financial statements and annual return for the financial year ended 31st March, 2019 up to 31st December, 2019 without levying any additional fee.
