The Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the full – Union Budget 2024 today before the parliament at 11 am. FM announced a scheme to provide Internship allowances to 1 crore youths in Top 500 Companies of the country in a span of 5 Years.
The Union Budget 2024 allocates Rs.500 Cr for Top 500 Companies of the country to provide internship allowance of Rs.5000 per month for the interns, which also includes one time assistance of Rs.6000.
By providing valuable work experience and enhancing employability it is to benefit ‘One Crore Youth’ in a span of 5 Years.
The Major announcement aims in providing the youth with more secured internship opportunities which helps in covering the cost related to research and the work incurred as a part of the programme. This also intends to cover the basic cost related to the Internship Programme such as accommodation, food and other cost of living.
In Addition to this about 12 Industrial Parks have been sanctioned under National Industrial Corridor Development Programme which aims in boosting the Industries of the Country. Also a much needed boost to the micro, small and medium enterprises ( MSMEs ) was also provided in the Union Budget by increasing the MUDRA loan limit to Rs.20 lakhs from 10 lakhs.
