The ICAI ( Institute of Chartered Accountants of India ) may send legal notice to Netflix and the director or producer of the series of ‘Tribhuvan Mishra CA Topper’. The series was getting widespread hate among the Chartered Accountants and CA aspirants.
The information on sending legal notice was shared by CA. (Dr). Rohit Ruwatia Agarwal through his official ‘X’ account. He is the Chairman of CMP, ICAI. According to his post, the ICAI will be sending the legal notice today to the Netflix, Producer/Director related to a series which is aiming at tarnishing the image of the profession.
“Such kind of things are not at all acceptable. Institute has a zero tolerance policy for the defamation caused” said Mr. Rohit Ruwatia.
He encouraged professionals to report such instances on social media to the institute or directly email the leadership and council, to avoid floating more on social media, which indirectly against causing more defamation.
“Ridiculous, madness, and shamelessness. Nowadays, CAs are a soft target for everyone, only to earn money and defame them. Now it is time for the torchbearer to do something extraordinary, so that in the future, no one can easily defame CA”, the former ICAI president, CA Anupam Sharma has shared his views on the Netflix series posted showing his disagreement with the series.
