Shell has invited applications for the post of M2M Accounting.
QUALIFICATIONS
- CA/CMA Qualified Professionals or Semi-Qualified/ Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance with hands-on experience per industry standards.
- Excellent Accounting knowledge with strong experience in Accounts Receivables, Payables and books closing aspects.
- Knowledge on M2M accounting and IFRS concepts would be preferred and an added advantage.
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently with a short turnaround time involving complexities and competing priorities.
- Proven ability to work proactively and with minimum supervision.
- Develop and maintain a strong relationship with Trading, Commercial Operations, Finance Operations, and Financial Reporting to ensure requirements and expectations as well as issues are captured, understood, and acted upon in a timely manner.
- Dynamic environment with high change management in systems, processes, and people.
- Recent system implementation requires many manual workarounds and the designing new and evolving processes.
- Exposure to Power BI would be an added advantage.
- Must possess ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, work in a fast-paced Trading environment, handle pressure well and deliver results in critical situations. Multiple trading systems: DEX, ENDUR, SAP, Power BI.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and maintain a strong relationship with Trading, Commercial Operations, Financial Reporting, and Finance Operations to ensure requirements and expectations as well as issues are captured, understood and acted upon in a timely manner; keep abreast of new and changing business/markets.
- Ensure that the accounting group has the capability to effectively support the present and future Shell Trading Business and is organized to optimally deliver this support.
- Help bring alignment across the organization through clear understanding of the key business drivers and the impact of each function on these drivers.
- Ensure business-linked objectives and metrics are in place for each segment of the accounting group, work closely with the organization to achieve them.
- Constant view to improve systems and processes with an aim towards elimination of manual data capture, improving reconciliation capabilities and continuing down the path of straight through processing.
- Assess the company’s need to be Sarbanes Oxley compliant in certain areas and then drive the necessary level of compliance.
- Work with and support the wider team to ensure accuracy of Settlements Process through timely and accurate recognition of expenses and revenue.
- Additional responsibilities include project management, system upgrades, enhancements, implementations and testing.
- Support implementation of new business/projects and associated system/process changes.
- Ability to work with a ‘one team mindset’ i.e. offshore and onshore together.
- Manage key stakeholders as appropriate on behalf of the Hydrocarbon organisation.
- Provide process and process design assurance.
- Tax and Compliance Reporting.
- Provide cross training within the Back-Office organisation
