In a significant announcement, the Comptroller and Auditor General of India invites online applications from Chartered Accountant firms and Limited Liability Partnerships (LLPs) aspiring to be empanelled for the fiscal year 2024-2025.
The Professional Development Committee of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has announced the empanelment of Chartered Accountant firms/LLPs for the year 2024-25.
This empanelment aims to consider appointments as auditors for Companies in accordance with Sections 139(5) and 139(7) of the Companies Act 2013, as well as for Statutory Corporations and Autonomous Bodies following the provisions of their respective Acts.
Application Period:
Online application forms, accompanied by comprehensive instructions, will be accessible on the official website care.cag.gov.in from January 5, 2024, to February 15, 2024.
Data Submission:
Applicant firms and LLPs are required to fill or update their data, indicating the status of their entities as of January 1, 2024. Subsequently, firms and LLPs must generate an online acknowledgment letter for the year. Failure to produce this acknowledgment letter will result in the non-consideration of the application for empanelment.
Submission Deadline:
Alongside the online acknowledgment letter, firms and LLPs are obligated to submit a printout of the same and hard copies of supporting documents to the Comptroller and Auditor General’s office by February 28, 2024.
The Professional Development Committee will oversee and facilitate the empanelment process to ensure the selection of qualified and proficient auditors.
