The Institute of Cost Accountants of India ( ICMAI ), Western India Regional Council (WIRC) successfully concluded its CMA campus placement program for 2024. A total of 92 promising candidates secured placements through the scheme, with an average salary expectation of ₹10 lakhs per annum.
The placement drive witnessed participation from a diverse range of reputed companies, including industry giants like L&T (7 selections), Reliance Jio (3 selections), Tata Motors (10 selections), and Vedanta (9 selections). Business service providers like WNS (3 selections) and Marico (3 selections) were also keen recruiters. Nestle (1 selection) offered placement opportunities as well.
Engineering and construction firms like Kalpataru (9 selections) actively participated in the drive. Additionally, government organizations like NAFED (2 selections) were present. Prism Jhonson (3 selections) was another prominent recruiter in the construction materials sector.
Accenture (7 selections) led the pack among Information Technology consultancies, closely followed by Accenture Solutions Pvt. Ltd (6 selections). Companies in the renewable energy sector like Hinduja Renewables Energy (4 selections) also participated in the placement drive. Consulting firms like KD Practices (1 selection), RSM Astute Consulting Pvt. Ltd. (4 selections), and Sharp & Tannan Associates (9 selections) actively recruited candidates. Tech Mahindra Ltd. (7 selections) and Viraj Profiles (4 selections) were among the other major recruiters.
The ICMAI WIRC’s campus placement program plays a major role in bridging the gap between qualified CMA professionals and industry requirements. The CMA course, offered by ICMAI, equips students with expertise in cost accounting, financial accounting, management accounting, and taxation, making them highly sought-after by employers.
