Steel Import Monitoring System (SIMS) 2.0 was launched by the Ministry of Steel. It was launched on July 25, 2024, at 2:00 pm with new features. The DGFT ( Directorate General of Foreign Trade ) has issued a trade notice 10/2024-25 on the same on 25th July 2024.
Starting from the launch date, SIMS 2.0 will be accessible at https://sims.steel.gov.in. As a result, the current SIMS 1.0, which is hosted on the DGFT website (https://dgft.gov.in ), will be discontinued immediately. However, applications submitted through SIMS 1.0 will remain available for viewing or download on the DGFT website until further notice.
Importers are advised to file their SIMS applications through the new SIMS 2.0 portal after 2:00 pm on July 25, 2024. SIMS 2.0 introduced several advanced features, including API integration with multiple government portals, a robust data entry system, and enhanced quality control measures.
This new version offers superior data quality and consistency, streamlined processes for greater efficiency, and integrated databases for improved risk management. Additionally, SIMS 2.0 provides enhanced analytical capabilities to support customs authorities in their operations.
