The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs ( CBIC ) under the Ministry of Finance, has issued Notification No. 66/2024-Customs (N.T.) dated October 15, 2024, which revises the tariff values for imported commodities, including various types of edible oils, gold, silver, and areca nuts. These changes will come into effect from October 16, 2024.
The tariff values for Crude Palm Oil, RBD Palm Oil, Other Palm Oils, Crude Palmolein, RBD Palmolein, Other Palmoleins, and Crude Soybean Oil have been revised, and the tariff value has been increased.
Similarly, the tariff value for Brass Scrap (all grades) has also been updated. The tariff values of precious metals such as Gold and Silver have been modified. Additionally, the tariff value for Areca Nuts has been decreased to reflect market trends.
