The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has given good news to the Chartered Accountancy – CA students by doubling their articleship stipend. Though there will be parents for the support, financial independence is very important for a student who is doing a Professional Course like CA.
According to the Chartered Accountants Regulations, regulation 48 states about the stipend for the articleship assistants. Itās mandatory for a CA student to undergo theĀ articleship training for 3 years which was revised to 2 years through the amendment notified on 23rd June 2023.

The Stipend for the 1st year training was fixed as Rs. 2000 and which is now revised to Rs. 4000 in the cities/ towns having population of 20 lakhs and above per month. For the second year, the ICAI raised it from Rs. 2500 to Rs. 5000. And for the third year, it was doubled from Rs. 3000 to Rs. 6000. Thus, the stipend has been fixed in proportion to the population of the cities or towns you are living in.

The new amendments were a part of implementing a new scheme of education to the CA course. The official launch of the new scheme of CA education will be on 1st July 2023, on CA day, as per the press release of the ICAI.
