GST Exempted on Delivery Charges for Zomato ‘s Gold Card Members: CBIC

The Central Board of Indirect Taxes , Customs ( CBIC ) tweeted while replying to a Zomato Customer that a customer buying from an online platform like Zomato will normally pay 5% on food, 5% on packing charges, 18% on platform fee and 18% on delivery charges (which is not levied for gold card members).

The clarification on twitter was given in response to the tweet by a Zomato Customer namely Vipin Shrivastava questioning Zomato for charging an increased GST from 18% to 37%.
