The Kerala government has decided to implement the e-way bills from December. A press release issued by the department, on Thursday clarified the same.
As per the E-way Bills provisions, both the inter-State and intra-State movement of goods above Rs 50,000 is required to be pre-registered online.
Earlier, when a few days were left for the GST rollout, the Central Government had decided to postpone the implementation of the provision since it was not sure about the technological backbone.
To generate an e-way bill, the supplier and transporter will have to upload details on the GSTN portal, after which a unique e-way bill number (EBN) will be made available to the supplier, the recipient and the transporter on the common portal.
Some items such as vegetables, fruits, food grains, meat, bread, curd, books and jewellery out of its ambit.
With the implementation of E-way Bill, the Government is conducting workshops and classes for traders, tax practitioners etc.
