The Goods and Services Tax Network ( GSTN ) has announced the release of integrated services for the Goods and Services Tax ( GST ) e-invoice-1 and e-invoice-2 portals by the National Informatics Centre ( NIC ).

These services will be available on the sandbox portals starting July 18, 2024, and on the production portals from August 1, 2024.

The integration aims to ensure seamless interoperation between the existing e-Invoicing portals.

Key features of the new integrated services include:

1. Unified Access: Both portals, NIC-IRP 1 and 2, offer web and API modes for e-invoice services. Taxpayers can use the same login credentials across both portals.

2. API Token Usage: The same token can be used for e-invoices and e-waybills across both portals.

3. Redundancy and Reliability: The e-invoice-2 portal serves as a backup during technical issues or emergencies affecting the main e-invoice portal.

4. Criss-Cross Operations: Users can print, download, and cancel e-invoices from either portal, regardless of where the invoice was generated.

5. Operational Continuity: If e-invoice-1 experiences technical difficulties, all e-invoice services can be accessed through e-invoice-2.

6. Sandbox Testing: Users are encouraged to test all APIs in the sandbox environment (einv-apisandbox.nic.in) before deploying them in the production environment.

7. Additional Portals: Besides NIC-IRP 1 and 2, four other e-invoice portals (IRP-3, IRP-4, IRP-5, and IRP-6) are available for taxpayer convenience.

For further information and to test APIs, users can visit the sandbox portal at einv-apisandbox.nic.in.
