The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India ( ICAI ) has announced the Cut-off Dates for Enrollment in Foundation/Intermediate Course for September 2024/January 2025 Examinations.
Starting from May/June 2024, the Intermediate and Foundation course examinations will now be conducted three times a year in May/June, September, and January. This marks a shift from the previous practice of holding these exams twice a year. Meanwhile, the CA Final course examination will continue to be held twice a year in May and November.
Eligible students wishing to appear for these examinations must meet certain criteria set by the Institute. For the Foundation course examination, students must be registered with the Board of Studies of the Institute for a minimum period of four months by the 1st day of the exam month, among other specified eligibility conditions outlined in Regulation 25F.
Similarly, for the Intermediate course examination, students must be registered with the Board of Studies and have completed a study course for at least eight months by the first day of the exam month, along with meeting other eligibility conditions specified in Regulation 28G.
The Institute has announced the following key dates for registration:
1. The last date for registration in the Foundation Course for the September 2024 Examination is 1st May 2024.
2. The last date for registration in the Intermediate Course for the January 2025 Examination is also 1st May 2024, applicable to both the Foundation Route and Direct Entry Route.
Additionally, students who registered in the Intermediate Course by 1st January 2024, either through the Foundation Route or Direct Entry Route, are eligible to appear in the September 2024 Intermediate Examination.
To complete their registration, students can visit the Self-Service Portal at ICAI eServices.
This change in examination frequency and enrollment deadlines aims to provide students with more opportunities to pursue their chartered accountancy education effectively.
