The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India ( ICAI ) has released the list of valid nominations for the upcoming elections to the 26th Council, scheduled for December 2024. The nominations cover five constituencies across the country, including the Western India, Southern India, Eastern India, Central India, and Northern India Regional Constituencies. The elections are a crucial event for the accounting community in India as the Council is the governing body of Chartered Accountants ( CA ) that decides on policies and strategic directions for ICAI.
The Western India Regional Constituency has a total of 23 candidates, including candidates from key cities like Mumbai, Pune, Surat, and Ahmedabad, reflecting the geographic diversity of the constituency.

The Eastern India Regional Constituency features six candidates, from West Bengal, Assam, and Odisha, which highlights the involvement of Chartered Accountants from across the eastern part of the country.
In the Central India Regional Constituency, there are 20 candidates from Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh, indicating robust participation from the central belt of India.
