The Kerala Government has extended the Flood Cess Annual Return till March 15, 2022.
As per the notification issued under G.O. (II No. 96/2019/TAXES dated 29th June, 2019 and published as S.R.O. No. 435/2019 in the Kerala Gazette Extraordinary No. 1445 dated 1st July, 2019, the Government of Kerala had decided to implement the Kerala Flood Cess with effect from 01.08.2019. As per the notification issued under G. a (P) No 174/2020/TAXLS dated 31st December 2020 and published as 5.R.O. No. 924/2020, the Government has notified the Annual Return and Reconciliation Statement for Kerala Flood Tess.
The Notification said that, the taxpayers were facing some technical issues as a result whereof, the annual Kerala Flood Cess Return for the period 2019-20 and 2020-21 could not be furnished in time. The electronic system for the filing of Kerala Flood Cess return has now been developed and is made available for the public.
In the circumstances stated above, in the exercise of the powers confined by the second proviso to rule 6 of the Kerala Flood Cess Rules, 2019, the Commissioner of State Tax hereby extends the due date for filing annual Kerala Flood fess return in Form KFC-A1 for the year 2019-20 and 2020-21 to the 15th of March, 2022.
