A Single bench of Kerala High Court while disposing a writ petition has allowed the payment of motor vehicle tax in instalments.
A Writ petition had been filed by RISA confining his relief f in the writ petition to a direction to the respondent, Regional Transport Officer/ Taxation Officer to accept repayment of motor vehicle tax arrears demanded for the vehicle bearing registration No. KL-08/X.2111 in instalments.
Maheshkumar appeared for the petitioner.
A Single Bench of Justice Gopinath P granted relief to the petition as the court had in other writ petitions, granted the relief of equated monthly instalments for clearing the arrears of motor vehicles tax. He accordingly, directed the respondent to accept the motor vehicles tax arrears relating to vehicle bearing registration No. KL-08/X.2111 in six equated monthly instalments, the first of which shall commence from 31.01.2023.
He further contended that, in the event of default of any of the instalments, the benefit granted under this judgement could not be availed by the petitioner. The writ petition was accordingly disposed.
