Hewlett Packard Enterprise has invited applications for the post of Legal Counsel.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Advanced university degree in law (e.g. JD or LLB); additional advanced degree relevant to the specialty preferred.
- Meets local legal license requirements.
- Typically 7-10 years commercial legal experience at a law firm or in-house.
- Advanced level of experience in one or more specialty law practice areas acquired through being a leading resource in-house or in similar industry or law firm environment.
- Advanced breadth and depth of practical and academic knowledge within a specific legal concentration, with demonstrated expertise in one or more sub-areas within the specific legal concentration.
- Strong knowledge of company policies and procedures.
- Awareness of the international legal environment for the specific legal concentration.
- Advanced skills and experience in negotiating or advising on complex or high value/risk matters in the specialty.
- Proactive and effective communicator of valuable information to clients and colleagues.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Advise business on all legal matters as the legal counsel and single point of contact within the country including
- Provide critical support and guidance to sales, credit, pricing and portfolio management parts of business in structuring transactions.
- Create, update and amend, standardized forms and field negotiation guides to conform to business needs and evolving regulatory and market demands.
- Liaise with HPEFS external counsel where necessary.
- Provide guidance and drafting for all offerings and other business initiatives.
- Mid Term and End of Term Renewals, Buyouts and Related Matters/Documentation.
- Review and negotiate Channel Partner Agreements and Marketing Materials
- Review and negotiation of Leasing & Financing Agreements and all other associated contractual documents (including Assignment of Receivables).
- Advise Board and Senior Management on various new business models and the required statutory approvals.
- Advise operations team on various processes and legal compliance matters thereof.
- Manage Corporate Secretarial compliance under Company Law, Reserve Bank of India regulations, Foreign Exchange Laws applicable to a Non-Banking Financial Company.
- Manage litigation relating to recovery and collection from delinquent customers.
- Advise business and operations on the process and steps for collection of bad debts.
