A 33-year-old Chartered Accountant from Jharkhand, residing in a rented apartment in Govandi, Mumbai, allegedly hanged himself on Tuesday after streaming his final moments live on Facebook. The CA, identified as Sandeep Paswan, accused his fiancée, Sapna Paswan, and her family of falsely implicating him in a stalking case and extorting ₹12.5 lakh from him. He also claimed they physically assaulted him.

The CA said he sought police intervention regarding the financial dispute, but his pleas were ignored, which led him to approach the courts. In the live video, he displayed injuries and a torn shirt, stating that Sapna and her family had driven him to despair, even urging him to end his life.

The Deonar police initially registered the case as an accidental death but are now investigating abetment to suicide charges against Sapna and her family after discovering the Facebook Live video.
