The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT), today notified the amendment in income Tax Rules making it mandatory to furnish the PAN details in Form 26B instead of TAN for Refund of TDS on immovable property.
The Notification amends the last part of Form 26B. The present Notification stated that, “in case of refund related to tax deducted under section 194-IA of the Act for which Form No. 26QB has been filed by the deductor, Permanent Account Number may be furnished in place of Tax Deduction and Collection Account Number.”
They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the official Gazette.
